Aeristech has launched a 20kW electric motor at the opening of its new UK headquarters in Warwick, UK. As an early adopter of Aeristech technology, Mahle Powertrain was invited to take part in the launch.
Designed to provide great torque density than same-rated rival technology, the company’s most powerful compressor has been reduced in size for enhanced modularity and a significant increase in continuous power rating. The 20kW motor provides maximum mass flow of 150gs-1 and a peak pressure ratio of 3.2 at 130gs-1.
Applications for Aeristech’s 20kW motor include traditional internal combustion and fuel cell passenger and commercial vehicles with stacks of up to and over 100kW. The company’s existing technology has been utilized by Mahle for use within the powertrain of its advanced downsizing demonstrator vehicle.
Richard Wall, Aeristech CEO, said, “Investment in our new, improved headquarters is a demonstration of Aeristech’s commitment to developing and expanding our range of emissions-reducing technologies for the internal combustion engine.”
The 20kW motor is the latest addition to Aeristech’s range of permanent magnet variable speed electric units, which are able to accelerate to rotational speeds of over 160,000rpm in under a second.
