Ford has unveiled its first all-electric model, the Mach-E. Powered by permanent magnet motors and fitted with either a 75.7kWh or a 98.8kWh li-ion battery, the Mach-E promises to produce up to 337ps peak power, 565Nm of torque and 595km (370 miles) of range.
The company will also offer a special performance variant. The Mustang Mach-E GT will generate 465ps peak power, 830Nm of torque and will accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in under five seconds.
“The Mustang Mach-E is one of the most exciting vehicles Ford has ever introduced,” said Stuart Rowley, president, Ford of Europe. “This purpose-built all-electric vehicle is unique, but still unmistakably a Mustang, and it’s coming at exactly the right time for customers in Europe.”
Fitted with advanced li-ion batteries – that feature 288 lithium-ion cells in the standard-range specification and 376 cells in the extended-range specification – the Mustang Mach-E will charge at a rate of 91km within 10 minutes with 150kW peak charging power on a DC fast-charging station.
