Turbo compressor specialist Celeroton has developed a new air supply system for fuel cells with a net output of 30kW-60kW, the CT-2000 and CC-2000, which it states offers an outstanding power-to-weight ratio with values for air mass flow and pressure ratio greater than its predecessor. The maximum speed of the compressor has also been increased, enabling a further reduction in installation space with a simultaneous increase in efficiency.
During development, the design was revised without compromising series production, the company says. Furthermore, the system is based on technologies that have proven themselves over many years, such as the air bearing, combined with the capabilities of modern manufacturing technologies and materials, which has helped simplify production. This has led to savings in materials and machining, assembly and commissioning processes, creating a particularly attractive price/performance ratio. Overall, the CT-2000/CC-2000 range represents weight and volume savings of 40% compared to its predecessor, with 10% increased performance at about 13% increased maximum speed.
The new system has been specially developed to meet automotive requirements and meet the needs of light commercial vehicles, forklifts and similar applications.
