Purem, an arm of Tier 1 supplier Eberspaecher, has introduced its H2-ICE exhaust system for hydrogen-fueled engines. The company notes that hydrogen engines have great potential to cut CO2 emissions, and its latest system will help cut nitrogen and particulate emissions from such engines.
The technology is based on the well-established experience of Purem in the development and production of exhaust-emission conversion systems for applications with fossil fuels, which have now been adapted to the CO2-neutral fuel.
Among other things, SCR technologies with urea-water solution are used as reducing agents for optimum nitrogen oxide conversion. The system is modular and can therefore be specifically adapted to the needs of individual customers and applications.
