Faraday Future has announced a partnership with US Hybrid to provide cost-effective, efficient and lightweight advanced powertrain units for commercial vehicles in California, to support the state’s drive toward zero emissions.
The collaboration marks the first time that Faraday Future has opened up its new electric propulsion technology to other companies. The tech will be used by US Hybrid for a series of clean energy related products. Faraday Future is now developing new EV solutions for use in the commercial industry for applications such as shuttle buses and drayage trucks.
Faraday’s propulsion system is made up of motor drive units – that can be used in a one-, two- or three-motor configuration – and high-energy battery packs that can be tailored specific powertrain requirements.
US Hybrid specializes in the design and manufacture of hybrid and electric power conversion systems to enable commercial vehicles to become more fuel-efficient and to reduce emissions.
The partnership brings together FF’s investment in advanced powertrain technology and US Hybrid’s experience in the medium/heavy-duty commercial vehicle sector, where the company has developed further plans for battery and fuel cell electric buses and trucks.
Dr Abas Goodarzi, CEO of US Hybrid said, “US Hybrid is pleased to partner with Faraday to help expand the manufacturing of innovative zero emission powertrain components that reduce vehicle weight and cost while increasing efficiency.”
