Aston Martin has unveiled its latest super GT, the DBS Superleggera. Equipped with a retuned 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, the DBS replaces the Vanquish S as the British company’s flagship car.
With a power output of 725ps at 6500rpm and 900Nm of torque from 1800-5000rpm, the twin-turbo heart will push the DBS Superleggera from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 340km/h.
To put that power to the rear wheels, the unit is fitted to a new rear-mounted ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The motor is also set low and as far back in the chassis as possible to optimize the center-of-gravity and weight distribution.
Aston Martin president and CEO Dr Andy Palmer said, “DBS Superleggera not only marks the return of a great Aston Martin name, but signals our return to the very pinnacle of the Super GT sector.
“Thanks to the remarkable torque available from its twin-turbo V12, DBS Superleggera packs a breathtaking punch, yet its dynamics have been carefully honed to engage drivers of all ability levels.”
