Audi has detailed the 2-liter turbocharged engine that powers its 2019 SQ2. Delivering a constant 300ps and 400Nm between 2,000rpm and 5,200rpm, the SQ2 promises quattro drive and a sub-five-second 0-100km/h sprint time.
With lightweighting a major focus during engine development, the turbocharged 2-liter weighs around 150kg (330 lb), therefore benefitting total weight of the SUV, and axle load distribution.
The 300ps powerplant will be matched to a 7-speed S tronic gearbox, ensuring acceleration to 100/km/h in 4.8 seconds and a limited 250km/h top speed.
In addition, quattro all-wheel drive is standard. Combining high traction through continuous torque distribution between the axles via the hydraulically actuated multiplate clutch. If the front wheels lose grip, up to 100% of the force is transferred to the rear within milliseconds.
