Audi has revealed its latest performance model, the RS Q8. Equipped with a 4-liter V8, the RS Q8 delivers 600ps peak power and 800Nm of torque. The direct injection biturbo engine will push the SUV from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Capable of hitting a top speed of 305km/h (190mph), the RS Q8 has recently broken the production SUV track record at Nürburgring, with an official time of 7 minutes 42.2 seconds.
The 4-liter TFSI engine sends power to the quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system via the brand’s 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. Wheel-selective torque control helps to enhance handling by ensuring additional traction across each axle through individual-wheel braking application.
During dynamic cornering, the quattro sport rear differential distributes drive torque between the rear wheels as required. This active torque vectoring helps improve traction, stability and dynamics.
Audi’s Drive Select setting changes the engine and transmission management, power steering, the air suspension, all-wheel steering, and engine sound. The system has seven modes: comfort, auto, dynamic, all-road, off-road and the configurable RS-specific modes RS1 and RS2.
