Bentley has introduced a 4-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline V8 engine to its third generation Bentley Continental GT line-up. Both the Continental GT and GT Convertible will be equipped with the 550ps unit.
The new-generation 4.0-liter, 32-valve V8 gasoline engine features dual twin-scroll turbochargers located inside the ‘V’ and promises to develop 550ps and 770Nm of torque. This results in a top speed of 318km/h and 0-100km/h in 4 seconds for the Coupe and 4.1 seconds for the Convertible.
Both V8 models feature cylinder deactivation tech, de-activating four of its eight cylinders in just 20ms when under suitable conditions. Stop-start technology, which operates at ‘near-to-stop’ speeds, is also available.
