Chevrolet has introduced its first-ever Camaro Turbo 1LE. The new addition joins the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE to round up the 1LE line-up.
Equipped with Camaro’s 2.0L turbocharged engine, which promises to generate 278ps and 400Nm, the Turbo 1LE powertrain is bolted to an exclusive six-speed manual transmission. The use of the turbo unit and manual transmission enables a near 50/50 weight balance.
The newest Camaro iteration also includes driver mode selector with sport mode and new track mode, and competition mode (within sport and track modes). The modes feature launch control, performance instrument readouts and shift lights.
As well as an all-new powertrain, the Turbo 1LE has been given a tailored chassis package derived from the V6 1LE to offer track-capable performance. This includes FE3 suspension with larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars, specifically tuned dampers, stiffer rear cradle bushings and cross-axis ball joints in the rear tow links that enhance lateral stiffness.
