Dacia has added the TCe 100 engine to its Duster line-up, replacing the SCe 115. The new-generation unit offers 18% lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption compared with the outgoing powerplant, at 126g/km of CO2 and between 4.8 l/100km and 4.75 l/100km.
Equipped with a turbocharger with an electrically controlled waste gate, an exhaust manifold partially integrated into the cylinder head, twin variable valve timing for intake, and bore spray coating, Dacia’s new indirect injection three-cylinder petrol engine is lighter and more compact than the engine it replaces.
Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the TCe 100 will output 100ps and 260Nm of torque a 2,000rpm. It also boasts greater energy efficiency and enhanced responsiveness thanks to the turbo, with 66% more torque than the SCe 115.
