Just the fourth longtail McLaren in over two decades, the 600LT is fitted with a redeveloped twin-turbo 3.8-liter unit which promises 60ps and 620Nm of torque
McLaren Automotive has introduced its newest addition to the LT family, the 600LT. Inspired by the renowned 675LT, the 600LT has been designed to excel on both road and track.
Powered by a redeveloped twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V8 engine, the UK-based company has uprated the cooling system and reduced back pressure in a shorter exhaust system. This means that peak power is now at 600ps and maximum torque is at 620Nm.
The increased power output, combined with an extreme approach to lightweighting, results in a power-to-weight ratio of 481ps per tonne.
At the start of development, a reduction of 96kg against the weight of a 570S Coupé was targeted and thanks to lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and further carbon-fiber bodywork that was achieved.
Top-exit exhausts also offer substantial weight saving and an improved aural experience.
