Mercedes-Benz has developed two diesel engines for GLE application. The new units will form the heart of the GLE 350 d and the GLE 400 d.
The 350 d and 400 d are each powered by a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, with an output of 275ps and 600Nm of torque; and 334ps and 700Nm of torque respectively. Both variants of the GLE are capable of delivering 5.8 l/100km on the combined cycle and emit 184g/km of CO2.
The GLE 350 d promises 100km/h (62mph) in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 230km/h (143mph), while the GLE 400 d offers a 5.8 second 0-100km/h and has a top speed of 240km/h (150mph).
