Mitsubishi has equipped its ASX compact crossover with a new, more powerful engine. The Mitsubishi ASX has been extensively revised for 2020.
The upgraded powertrain replaces the previous 1.6-liter gasoline with a new 2.0-liter gasoline power unit (4J11) which offers 152ps and 195Nm of torque.
This means that the ASX, when fitted with a manual gearbox, will reach 100km/h in 10.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 189km/h.
The four-wheel drive version, which is equipped with a CVT automatic transmission, promises to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 12.2 seconds.
Mitsubishi Motors’ Invecs-III CVT gearbox also incorporates a sport mode, which employs a ‘step-up’ shifting control system to emulate a traditional automatic transmission.
