Škoda has announced that it will add a 2-liter TSI powerplant to the Karoq and Kodiaq line-ups as demand for gasoline units grow. Paired to the company’s 7-speed DSG gearbox, the 190ps engine option will deliver 320Nm of torque between 1,400rpm and 4,100rpm.
The turbocharged unit will push the Karoq to 100km/h in just seven seconds, making it the fastest in the range. Despite strong performance, the engine is efficient, returning between 33.2mpg and 32.1mpg on the WLTP combined cycle and emitting 158g/km of CO₂.
In the Kodiaq, the TSI engine will push the SUV from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds. Fuel consumption will reach between 31.7mpg and 30.1mpg on the WLTP combined cycle. CO₂ emissions for this model are 162g/km.
