Volkswagen has added a 2.0-liter TSI engine to its Tiguan range. The new 230ps gasoline unit produces 350Nm of torque, allowing a 6.3-second 0 to 100km/h, and a top speed of 228km/h.
The engine is offered in both R-Line Tech and SEL Tiguans, and is fitted to 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard. The range-topping gasoline achieves a WLTP-approved 7.7 l/100km on a combined cycle, with CO₂ emissions of 175g/km.
Brian Luckie, product manager at VW, said: “The Tiguan is already a favorite with UK car buyers. This addition of over £1,000 of extra equipment and extra value only strengthens its case. And the addition of a new, range-topping petrol engine adds further appeal.”
