Allison has announced that it will supply the 1000 and 2000 automatic transmissions for the newly introduced International CV Series vocational trucks.
In this series the 6-speed Allison automatics are paired with the International 6.6L turbocharged diesel engine, which will generate 355ps and 950Nm of torque.
“The exceptionally durable and high-performing Allison 1000 and 2000 Series transmissions are ideally suited to partner with the International CV Series’s commercial-grade power, reliability and practicality,” said Rohan Barua, vice president, North America OEM sales at Allison Transmission.
The new transmissions include a number of features including power take off, which enables users to run power auxiliary equipment such as dump truck bodies, tow truck winches, hydraulic tools and bucket lifts; Continuous Power Technology; and FuelSense 2.0 electronic controls for increased fuel economy. Dynamic shift sensing has been targeted for a future release.
