Ricardo has committed £1.5m (US$1.9m) to state-of-the-art spiral bevel grinding technology from Klingelnberg. The latest investment builds on the purchase of leading-edge gear manufacturing machine tools that was announced earlier in the year.
This latest round of investment also includes a number of additional machines, providing further capacity, as well as new design and quality assurance capabilities through the latest software upgrades including the Klingelnberg Integrated Manufacturing of Spiral Bevel Gears (KIMOS) package from Oerlikon.
“Performance, quality and fast delivery are at the very core of our operations, whether we’re working for motorsports or premium road vehicle customers,” said Mark Barge, MD of Ricardo Performance Products.
“As such I am pleased that we are able to announce these investments in upgrading our manufacturing capabilities and software.
“Collectively these investments underscore our strategy of equipping ourselves with the skills, advanced manufacturing technology and expertise to deliver outstanding customer-specific solutions in minimal lead time, and further helps to position Ricardo at the very leading edge of the highly demanding motorsports driveline sector.”
