Citroen design brand DS has revealed a facelifted version of its 4 hatchback, including a new taller Crossback version of the car that offers a higher riding position for drivers.
The new car will be offered with six engines, with its main gasoline offering the International Engine of the Year Award-winning PureTech 130.
As fitted in the new DS 4, the PureTech 130 gasoline unit is equipped with stop/start as standard and has an output of 96kW at 5,500rpm, an increase of 9% over its predecessor, the VTi 120. Maximum torque is 230Nm, an increase of 44% compared with the old unit, and maximum torque is now available from 1,750rpm instead of 4,250rpm.
As well as the PureTech, two THP and three BlueHDi power units will be available with the standard DS 4, and the Crossback will come with the choice of PureTech 130 gasoline or BlueHDi 120 diesel engines, with output across the range of six engines running between 120ps and 210ps and torque between 230Nm and 400Nm.
DS says that its BlueHDi diesel engines are fitted as standard with the company’s selective catalytic reduction module, which is positioned upstream of the additive particulate filter. DS says that this is the only after-treatment system able to reduce NOx emissions by up to 90% as well as reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 4%.
