Horiba Mira has announced it is further bolstering its worldwide automotive engineering and testing capabilities through the opening of an all-new facility within the new Horiba India Private Limited, Technical Center in Pune, Western India.
The new site increases the company’s presence in India, and will provide an in-territory base from which to deliver comprehensive vehicle attribute engineering and testing programmes. Utilising automotive test systems within the Horiba India Technical Center, it is hoped the facility will ultimately provide a suite of emissions testing for vehicle manufacturers, delivering against its global-growth strategy on a regional level.
Since the growth of India’s automotive industry, air pollution and safety have become key concerns for leading manufacturers in the region – particularly following the introduction of the country’s heightened Bharat Stages (BS) emissions standards. Together with Portable Emissions Measurement System (PEMS) and Horiba Mira’s engineering capabilities, the new facility will provide vehicle manufacturers with test services to support them to meet BS VI compliance.
“Growing our global operation is a key part of our long-term strategy, and we’re incredibly pleased to open our new facility in Pune,” stated Declan Allen, chief operating officer at Horiba Mira. “The site presents an exceptional platform for us to deliver a broader portfolio of test and development capabilities in support of our key customers in India.”
