Johnson Matthey Battery Systems Automotive has announced it is moving to new premises in Milton Keynes, UK, at the end of July. JMBS is a lithium-ion battery system supplier with expertise at the leading edge of Li-ion electrochemistry, independently analysing, selecting and sourcing cells, and advanced mechanical, electrical and thermal engineering, as well as with chemistry-independent battery management systems.
JMBS’s current facilities in Dundee, Scotland, and Coventry, England, will be relocated to the new site, which will become operational on July 25, 2016. This new site will be ideally located in the hub of the UK’s automotive and electrification industries to serve the company’s customer base with consolidated capabilities and access to adjacent services.
The site will house an electro-chemistry laboratory, a BMS laboratory and small-scale production facilities. All UK staff will be based in Milton Keynes, and the new organisation, combined with the company’s expanding technical capabilities, will be ideally placed to meet challenging and evolving customer requirements.
