The cutting-edge Dearman Engine, powered by liquid nitrogen, is center stage at the UK Pavillion, as part of the 2016 Engine Expo.
“This is a first for Dearman, bringing our cutting-edge technology to the European market at the prestigious Engine Expo,” explained Michael Ayres, deputy CEO of Dearman. “There is real potential to significantly improve air quality across Europe’s most polluted urban areas by switching from polluting transport refrigeration units to zero-emission alternatives. With Dearman’s zero-emission system about to enter commercial deployment, and other applications of our cutting edge engine coming on line, it is an exciting time to be showcasing the benefits of clean cold technology to a wider audience.”
The Dearman system is zero emission, emitting no PM or NOx, and delivering significant CO2 savings compared to diesel. In fact, moving to a zero-emission system could reduce a refrigerated truck’s overall PM emissions by up to 90% and NOx emissions by 70%. It is also quiet, giving operators maximum flexibility.
