GKN Sinter Metals used the 2016 Engine Expo to promote its latest venture with Additive Industries. The two companies are championing the 3D metal printing system for efficient and high quality serial automotive production. The collaboration also saw Additive Industries announce the re-opening of its Beta programme for the build of a MetalFAB1 system for GKN.
By using the MetalFAB1 system, GKN states that it can ‘improve the industrialisation of its serial metal additive manufacturing process’. Combined with the 3D metal printing machine knowledge of Additive Industries, GKN Sinter Metals continued to state that it will now be ‘better placed to meet the automotive industry’s extraordinary quality standards and precision and reproducibility demands in additive manufacturing’.
