Anderson Consulting has been championing its SC-1 research grade modular platform for combustion analysis and air flow development at the 2016 Engine Expo.
The company states that the SC-1 was born out of the need for a ‘reasonable cost test platform with easily serviceable components’. As a result, the SC-1 has been designed to be a rugged, data-consistent, flexible unit.
With easy access for sensors, the SC-1 is able to with multiple fuels, 2-stroke or 4-stroke combustion and multiple head configuration possibilities. Anderson Consulting is keen to point out that unlike some other research engines, the SC-1 is not RPM limited by balance mechanisms, and comes complete with swappable combustion chambers, bore and stroke measurements (65-108mm, and 65-107mm respectively), cylinder liners, and balance mechanisms.
