Among the very latest in automotive powertrain design, production, components and technology on display, induction heating system developer Ambrell used the first day of the show to unveil “the world’s first induction heating cobot”.
The system, called Max, is a programmable automation device that performs a variety of light industrial tasks with humans in shared processes. It is integrated into induction heating processes for optimized production flow, increased yields and greater uniformity.
“With the flexibility, portability and cost-effectiveness of cobots in the manufacturing sector, Ambrell recognized how cobot-assisted automation could be designed and engineered into the heating process, especially for high-mix, low-volume production,” said Jeff Kramer, Ambrell’s director of product management and Max project team leader.
